Antibodies

Arty and Selene’s perfect life unravels when villagers hunt them down, aiming to absorb them into their community—and its rigid rules.

“Antibodies” is inspired by my personal experience with queerness. Gender and heterosexuality always felt like something I had to perform in a certain way to be accepted by those around me.
Through this film, I aim to portray queerness as natural and normalized, contrasting it with the highly performative and unnatural hetero-normative ideals, taking it to the extreme by adding body horror elements.
“Antibodies” takes the concept of the “other” as used in classic monster films, and turns it against the persecutors, portraying them as the ones who look apart.
The message of “Antibodies” is that limiting ourselves to a set of rules will affect the people around you and yourself.

To maximise the chances for this short in the film festival circuit, it will only be available by request until the judging period is complete.
